EMA and money

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

An Education Maintenance Allowance can make staying in learning or training more affordable and you can receive up to £30 per week, paid straight into your bank account.

Care to Learn

Are you a young parent aged 16-19? Care to Learn helps with childcare and travel costs if you want to begin or return to learning.

Other support funds

There are other funds available to help support you with costs like accommodation and travel. Visit the Transport Information section for advice on cheaper travel in Salford and Greater Manchester.

Opening a bank account

You need to have a bank account to apply for an EMA and receive financial support. So if you haven't opened one up yet then read our easy guide on how to open a bank account.
