Public transport, such as buses, trains and trams, are frequent and fairly reliable in Greater Manchester.

Low fares and free travel
Transport to and from your school can be free for certain Salford learners, as long as you meet the criteria set out by Salford City Council Transport Unit. The Transport to school pages provide information on the financial support that is available to learners or alternatively, you can visit the GMPTE website for information on fares and travel cards for under 16s.
Travel cards
If you are aged 16-25 then you can get 1/3 off most adult train fares with a Young Person's Railcard. You can also get 30% off adult coach fares with the National Express Saver if you are 16-26.
