Introduction of new 20 mph speed limit Order 2010

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford intends to make an order under Sections, 1, 2, 4, 81, 82, 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following lengths of road as specified in the schedule below.

A copy of the proposed order, together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order, may be examined at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection, in writing, to the Director of Engineering, Traffic Management and Control, 4th Floor, Emerson House, Albert Street, Eccles, M30 0TE, by the 6 September 2010, (quoting reference TRO/1589/PP/UV/518).

Schedule

No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following length of road:

  • Kilcoby Avenue, Swinton
  • Top Gate Brow, Swinton
  • Redmoss Row, Swinton
  • Tillerman Close, Swinton
  • Lock Keepers Mews, Swinton
  • Roving Bridge Rise, Swinton
  • Bolbury Crescent, Swinton
  • Appleyard Close, Swinton
  • Wet Earth Green Swinton
  • Giants Seat Grove, Swinton
  • Hoggs Bridge Close, Swinton
