Claire
Claire* is 2 and needs an adoptive family. When she arrived with her foster family she couldn't sit up and was not used to being held or played with. She has made huge progress since then.
Claire is almost walking, she pulls herself up and walks along furniture and is happy to walk holding someone's hand or with a walker, she just lacks the confidence to go it alone but this won't be long. Her carer says if you hold her hand she will walk for miles preferring this to her pushchair.
Claire now loves to be cuddled and kissed. She is very close to her foster carers but appropriately wary with strangers. She is a happy child. Claire has Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and this will have an impact on her future development. Claire has global developmental delay.
Claire's progress is monitored by a range of health professionals and she has support at home from a specialist Health Visitor Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist. She is beginning to talk and says a small number of words but is waiting for a referral to Speech Therapy.
Claire is a very rewarding child to care for. Could you be her adoptive family?
