Safeguarding adults

Adult Social Care's usual working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Due to the festive period, Adult Social Care offices are closed on:

  • Thursday 25 December 2025
  • Friday 26 December 2025
  • Thursday 1 January 2026

Please note, we are also closed on weekends.

To report a safeguarding concern, or if you need emergency support from Adult Social Care whilst our offices are closed, please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 0161 794 8888 or Minicom 0161 793 3303.

Are you being abused?

  • deliberately misunderstood, shouted at - psychological abuse
  • hit, pinched, handled roughly - physical abuse
  • touched where you do not want to be touched - sexual abuse
  • ignored, left in soiled or wet clothing - neglect

Are you having

  • your money stolen, your pension cashed and bills not paid? - financial abuse

Nobody should do any of these things to you. Even people who are supporting or caring for you.
