Allotments

Why not grow your own fruit and veg?Have you ever considered allotment gardening?

Taking on an allotment plot is not all hard work and has a number of benefits. Allotment gardening provides you with the opportunity to grow fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers for you and your family at a low cost.

Salford has a total of 599 council-owned allotment gardens located at 24 sites throughout the city, including five self managed sites.

The majority of these sites are designated for growing fruit, vegetables and flowers but there are several sites where the keeping of livestock is permitted.

Rents are charged annually and vary according to the type of facilities on site.
