Internal audit
The internal audit section provides a range of audit reviews of the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of all systems, procedures and processes across the city council.
The section is one of the largest in the region and provides a wide range of services to external organisations as well as directorates of the city council. Our current client list includes Greater Manchester Police Authority, Urban Vision, Salix and the North West Learning Grid. The unit also undertakes audits of computer systems for a variety of local authorities under joint working arrangements.
Although the unit is organised around functional and client groupings, we adopt a flexible approach to staffing and placements. This ensures that skills and competencies are matched to client needs and also offers greater personal development opportunities for our staff.
