Salford Assisted Families Project (ASSFAM)
Salford Assisted Families Project (ASSFAM) was established in April 2003. The service is delivered by Action for Children (formerly known as NCH) in partnership with Supporting People and Salford Children's Services. ASSFAM delivers a floating support service to families who are perpetrators of anti-social behaviour, at risk of losing their tenancy, have children aged five to sixteen who are at risk of offending or re-offending, or parents/carers who have serious drug/alcohol issues which impacts on their capacity to parent their children.
ASSFAM also has three Better Life Chances Workers working in Winton, Little Hulton and Broughton/Cheetham in partnership with Manchester. They have a case load of up to ten families each and work with families and adults to encourage them back into education, training and employment.
There is also a Family Group Conferencing project managed and delivered in partnership with Salford Children's Services.
