The fly tipping of controlled waste is a serious criminal offence which carries a fine of up to £20,000 or an offender can even be sent to prison. It is important to realise that it is also an offence to permit fly tipping. Salford City Council treats this problem very seriously and will prosecute anyone caught fly tipping waste in the Salford area.

Environmental Health Officers aim to ensure that food and drink intended for human consumption, which is produced, stored, distributed or handled within any of the 1,923 food premises in the Salford City Council area, is without risk to the health and safety of the consumer.
