Major incident plan

Mental Capacity Act 2005
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 protects the rights of people who are unable to make decisions for themselves. It includes new rules of powers of attorney, making advance decisions to refuse medical treatments and a new court of protection

The Youth Offending Team has variety of opportunities to work on a voluntary basis, including mentoring young people who are involved or are at risk of, offending behaviour.

Mice
Environmental Services provide this service for pests considered to be a risk to public health or food safety including rats, house mice, cockroaches and fleas. A service is also provided to control pests that may become a nuisance in houses such as a wide range of beetles, silverfish, earwigs and wasps. Our pages also contain a guide to charges.
Mobile library
If you are housebound or visually impaired you can still borrow books and find information from the Library Service. We operate two specially adapted mobile library vans - one for people who are housebound and one for people who are visually impaired.
Mobile phones and driving: the law
In a new regulation that came into force on 1 December 2003, it is now a specific motoring offence to use a hand-held phone, or similar device, when driving.
Mobile warden service
There are a range of landlords in Salford that provide sheltered housing. The schemes offer housing to people who wish to continue to live an independent lifestyle, but would like the reassurance of extra support.
MoT and Class 4 testing
The city council is a designated council authorised by the Department of Transport's Vehicle & Operator Services Agency to carry out statutory tests on vehicles (MoT testing).

Mrs Pankhurst
Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst, a famous Salfordian, became one of the most influential women in Britain. In 1903 she formed the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), whose members were later dubbed “Suffragettes”, in support of women’s suffrage – the right to vote.
