Barton Moss is one of Salford's five local authority nurseries situated in the south of the city with easy access to motorway links. It is based in the grounds of Barton Moss Community Primary School and fosters close links with the school.
As an OFSTED registered nursery, working to deliver a play based curriculum that follows the aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage, we aim to give children in our care the best possible start in life, supporting them to fulfil their potential.
When parents choose a setting they want to know that that setting will keep their child safe and help them to thrive. We do this by:
- Setting the standards for learning, development and care for young children.
- Providing for equality of opportunity through anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included.
- Creating a framework for partnership working between parents and professionals.
- Improving quality and consistency in the early years through a universal set of standards, ending the distinction between care and learning.
- Laying a secure foundation for future learning by observational assessment and planning around the individual needs and interests of the child.
What we offer
- A forty place nursery for children aged 0 to four years with close links to Barton Moss Community Primary School.
- A team of welcoming staff offering a wealth of knowledge, experience and exciting ideas.
- A wide and balanced range of experiences and activities to develop and enhance children's learning and development.
- An Education Lead Teacher who advises on the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and is the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
- A team of professionals who tie into the centre to support children and families.
- Resources to meet the individual children's needs.
- Communication with parents and carers in a variety of ways, daily report sheets, home-nursery diaries and daily dialogue.
- A profile of your child's activities and development addressing what they ‘can do'.
- An outdoor play area which hosts a large sand area, running water, wooden bridge, ramps, steps, opportunities to build dens and a grassed hill. These help stimulate imagination, movement and balance skills.
