Fees or charges
Depending on the type of work you are undertaking different fees or charges will apply. Guidance notes are provided at the bottom of this page and these contain information on table of fees and how to calculate them.
New building regulation fees
New charges regulations require local authorities to reconsider their building regulation fees. The primary objective is to ensure fees reflect cost - service costs have been reviewed and project specific fees developed.
Charges are determined in two ways:
- Standard fees - based on typical work for domestic and non-domestic projects
- Individual fees - projects not covered by a standard fee are individually priced
In order to keep costs to a minimum certain basic assumptions have been made when determining fees i.e. your builder is familiar with construction practices and work is not complex. Supplementary fees may be charged if your projects require additional support.
The new fees came into effect on 18 October 2010.
If you require further information please contact our office.
Health and Safety during your construction works
If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may need to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and you may have other duties also - find out more about having building and construction work done.
