Benefits review

If you've received a letter from the council asking you to complete an online review, please read the information below and then click on ‘Benefits review form’.  

On a daily basis from 5.15am to 6.30am and from 7pm to 8pm, the online claim facility will be unavailable due to system maintenance.

Filling in the form

When accessing the benefits review form, you might get a 'blocked a pop-up' message at the bottom of the screen. To continue with the form you need to select 'Allow once' or choose 'Options for this site' and select 'Always allow'.

You will then be asked a series of security questions, including the authorisation code which is on your letter. Please be aware that the authorisation code is case sensitive and should be replicated as shown on the letter. 

If any incorrect details are used when trying to access the form a system message will appear ‘Stop! The claim Checker Reference you entered is no longer valid. Please contact the authority to arrange an alternative way to check your claim’

Check the details you have used are correct and try again. You are given three attempts to correctly log-in. After this, the system will automatically lock you out, showing the error message ‘Stop! Maximum number of access attempts exceeded. Please try later’. The form will re-set after one minute and you should be able to gain access. 

Once you’re logged in 

Please update the form where your circumstances have changed. For example, if your earnings have changed or somebody has moved out. If your circumstances have stayed the same, just select ‘no changes’. If the council needs any supporting evidence or further information from you then we will contact you at a later date.

You can upload any supporting evidence when completing the online form. By providing evidence such as payslips, self employed accounts, proof of rent, proof of identity etc your form may be dealt with quicker and we may not have to request this at a later date which could delay your review form being processed.

Documents can be uploaded at the end of the form where you see the hyperlink ‘Upload evidence’.

  • PNG
  • TIFF

If you have had any changes to your circumstances that you need to notify us about and we haven't written to you, please use our online change in circumstances form or visit your nearest Gateway Centre
