Background
The every child matters framework highlights that children and young people need support to achieve economic well-being. Key to this is support and information for families about benefit entitlement. Families with disabled children are a priority group as 55% of families who care for a disabled child are or have been living in poverty. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to increase their confidence in advising families who are under financial pressure.
Aims
To provide an overview of the range of benefits and allowances available to all families with children.
To enable workers to identify potential claims for benefits and tax credits.
To promote take up of benefits for disabled children and their carers.
