Broughton Green

Planned to provide approximately 700 new homes by 2016, Broughton Green has been heralded as a UK-wide benchmark, setting the standard for the future of residential development in suburban areas.
A vibrant new community for the future
Broughton Green is the creation of a new community development through the regeneration of approximately 30 acres in Higher Broughton, Salford.
As one of the first community regeneration programmes to take shape in Salford, Broughton Green is located off Bury New Road, only two miles from Manchester City Centre. Costing an estimated £120 million to regenerate the area, it is one of the most exciting projects taking place in the North West of England, proposing to establish a sustainable community with a wide range of mixed tenure homes, intertwined with comprehensive community facilities, shopping, sports and recreational facilities.
Overall, it is heralding a new beginning for the area, brought to fruition by an innovative development partnership between public and private sector partners including the Royal Bank of Scotland, national regeneration specialists Inpartnership and City Spirit, along with Salford City Council and Salix Homes.
Delivery
The first phase of the project won the Best Overall Development title at the Manchester Evening News Property Awards in 2000.
Broughton Green was also shortlisted in the Best Building - Residential category at the 2010 Salford Good Design Awards.
The second phase of 19 new homes at Vincent Street has also been completed with views over the new playing fields.
The third phase of 52 properties including houses and flats at Devonshire Square has been completed and provides a mix of two and three bed houses and one and two bed apartments.
The Higher Broughton Hub opened in September 2011 with a range of local services including a library, a youth club, a nursery, sports pitches, a trampoline hall, a council customer service desk, community meeting rooms, a Greater Manchester Police desk and we are hoping to add a cafe by spring 2012.
The next residential phase to be progressed will provide approximately 80 new, three and four bed houses with gardens and will be considered for planning permission during autumn/winter 2011.
It is also hoped to see progress on the Bury New Road frontage with a further phase of development to include the sought after medical and retail aspects of the development during winter/spring 2011/2012.
Further information about the project can be found at the Broughton Green website.
