The schools

The first two schools built under the Building Schools for the Future programme opened in September 2011 at Walkden and Irlam.

Oasis Academy MediaCityUK is currently being rebuilt on Trafford Road at the entrance to Salford Quays and will be occupied by the school from September 2012.

Construction work has now begun on three more schools which will be open by September 2013. These are Moorside High School which will include a rebuild for Moorside Primary School, St Ambrose Barlow RC High School and St Patrick's RC High School.

Major investment has already taken place in eight of our secondary school buildings, which have already been redeveloped: Salford City Academy, The Albion, Oakwood, Chatsworth, New Park, Buile Hill, Harrop Fold and Beis Yaakov High Schools.

It is now planned to rebuild Wentworth High School and All Hallows RC High School with further investment planned for St George's RC High School.

In addition under the BSF programme, all Salford high schools are now benefitting from a managed information communications technology (ICT) service. This will shortly be extended to all primary schools.

Please see the links to the left of this page for further information on each school.
