Introduction of bus lane: A580 East Lancashire Road west and east bound Order 2009

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 19 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

When the order comes into effect bus lanes will be introduced as detailed in the schedules below. The order will contain exceptions to permit use by certain vehicles.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the City Solicitor, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA by the 17 December 2009 (quoting reference H/PP/MK).

Schedule A

West bound carriageway:

  • Any area of the carriageway of that length of the on-slip and west bound carriageway of the East Lancashire Road A580 from the Irlams O'th Height roundabout to the on-slip to the M61 motorway at junction 14.

Schedule B

East bound carriageway:

  • Any area of the carriageway of that length of the on-slip and east bound carriageway of the East Lancashire Road A580 from the M60 junction 14 to the off-slip to the A6 at Irlams O'th Height in the City of Salford.
