Compulsory Purchase of land in Salford

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the city of Salford has made the Salford City Council (Higher Broughton Regeneration Area No. 2) Compulsory Purchase Order 2005 under Section 226(1)(a) of The Town and Country Planning Act 1990. It is about to submit this Order to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State for confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise them to purchase compulsorily, the land described below, for the purposes of development, redevelopment and improvement by clearing the existing properties, providing new housing, including affordable properties. A copy of the Order and of the accompanying plan may be seen at all reasonable hours at the Law and Administration Division, Corporate Services Directorate, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA and Broughton Library, 400 Bury New Road, Salford 7. The order will also be advertised in the local press.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State, Government Office for the North West, City  Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester, M1 4BE, before the Nineteenth day of December 2005 and should state the title of the Order, the grounds of objection and the interests in the land.

Dwelling houses (some unoccupied) as follows:
Cardiff Street - 1/65 and 2/62
Devonshire Street - 53/87
King Street - 1/57 and 2/54
Leicester Road - 1a and 1/15
Turner Street - 1/47 and 2/52
Wiltshire Street - 51/101 and 42/80

including the business at 31 Turner Street and 7 Leicester Road including vacant shop premises at 15 Leicester Road and outbuildings to the rear of 1 Leicester Road, to include half and full widths of both highways and passageways surrounding or adjoining the properties, including a half width portion of Tully Street and part of Carnarvon Street
