Compulsory purchase of land in Salford

NOTICE is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford has made the Salford City Council (Langworthy South East (West Towers Street (Clearance Areas 1-7)) Compulsory Purchase Order 2004 under Section 290 of the Housing Act 1985. It is about to submit this Order to the First Secretary of State for confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise the Council of the City of Salford to purchase compulsorily, the land described below, for the purposes of undertaking or otherwise securing the demolition of buildings in a clearance area and securing a cleared area of convenient shape and dimensions and the satisfactory development or use of the cleared area. A copy of the Order and the accompanying plan may be seen at all reasonable hours at the Law and Administration Division, Corporate Services Directorate, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA and Salford Information Centre Broadwalk Library, Hankinson Way, Salford 6.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the First Secretary of State, City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester, M1 4BE, before the fourteenth day of February 2005 and should state the title of the Order and the grounds of objection and the objectors address and interests in the land.

Blodwell Street – Dwellinghouses 3, 17, 31, 35 and four unoccupied garages

Derg Street – Dwellinghouses 3, 4, 11, 16 and 50

Gilbert Street – Dwellinghouse 18 and open land formerly the sites of 3, 7, 11 and 17

Langshaw Street – Dwellinghouses 3, 18, 22 and unoccupied land to the rear of the former sites of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 Athole Street

Royle Street – Dwellinghouses 4, 5, 7 and 15

Shawcross Street – Dwellinghouses 1, 4, 13 15, 17, 20, 24, 29, 30, 32, 36 and 40

West Towers Street – Dwellinghouses 14 and 16

Woodheys Street – Dwellinghouse 2
