Poisons
Registration of persons entitled to sell poisons included in part II of the poisons list.
Types of products containing poisons
Certain household products such as powerful cleaning products and disinfectants for example contain ingredients which are poisonous. There are also a number of gardening products which are classed as poisonous.
These ingredients are contained in the list of poisons named in part II of the poisons list.
Requirements
In order that a business is able to supply these types of products then it must be registered with the local authority and retained on that authority’s list of persons entitled to sell poisons.
The registration is an annual one and runs from the 1st April until the 31st March.
There is also an annual fee to pay which is currently:
- For a first registration: £24.00
- For a renewal: £15.00
- For an alteration: £10.50
Application form and information
The application form and the list of part II poisons are available either from the office or by telephoning 0161-793 2022. In addition there is a list of common products which are classed as poisons and which may help you to decide if you require to be registered. The list is fairly comprehensive but may not cover all poisons, so check with your suppliers if you have any doubts.
