A new scam?
Be on your guard once again
We have received information that a London resident received a telephone call from what she describes as sounding like a call centre, claiming to be the 'Government Credit Agency' with a record that she owed money on a credit card.
The lady has not owned any credit card so she objected and the caller rang off saying it 'must be a mistake'. On checking her caller ID no number was recorded on it.
Although we have not heard of this happening in the North West as of yet please be on your guard when receiving calls from people talking about your financial situation.
Never give out personal details to anyone who calls you especially personal financial information such as bank details. Genuine banks etc. will never ask you for the information ‘scammers’ will.
