The Cabinet (political leadership)

Cabinet members (who all belong to the political party with the majority of seats on the council) make decisions on services within the council’s policies and budgets.

The Cabinet consists of the Leader of Salford City Council, his deputy and eight councillors who are 'lead members' with responsibility for different services.

The Cabinet also produces an annual Cabinet Workplan. This is a detailed action plan for the year which focuses on key priorities for the city, with clear milestones for delivery.
