Carers emergency scheme

The carers emergency scheme keeps the person you care for safe, if something happens to you.
Fill in the form (at the bottom of this page) about the person you care for and list up to three people who can provide care in an emergency.
If you have an emergency, a phone call means that help for the person you care for, will be arranged.
Register with Salford Carers Centre which will give you a card with your own PIN number on it. They will also give your details to Care on Call mobile wardens and to Crossroads Care.
You should keep the card in your purse or wallet. In an emergency, we will know who you are and that you care for someone from your card.
We can contact the people on the form and ask them to help care for a short time. If they cannot help, then Crossroads can provide short-term, emergency care.
Send your form to the Salford Carers Centre or give it to your social worker. For more information about the scheme, contact Salford Carers Centre by phoning 0161 833 0217 or by emailing carers.centre@salford.gov.uk.
