Case study: Lynne

Lynne

Swinton: outreach worker

I contacted Skills and Work after I was put out of work after having been working there since 2004. It was a shock as I wasn't expecting the job to end. I'm on my own with two dependent children so was panicking because I've got a mortgage.

My advisor, Leslie, asked me about the things I liked and what I'd done so she could help with my CV. When I got Leslie's email with my CV I thought "oh my God, is that me?" It is what I've done, but I wouldn't have put it like that, I thought it was great. I felt 10 inches higher reading that and it gave me a lot more confidence.

A few weeks after, I got a call from the One Stop Shop in Little Hulton and after sending my CV I was asked for a job interview and I got the job! It was brilliant.
