Case study: Mike

Mike

Kersal: outreach worker

I heard about a job vacancy with Skills and Work as an outreach and engagement worker. I had an interview, filled out an application form and five months on here I am.

Skills and Work advisors are brilliant, they help you so much and make you feel so welcome. They do CV building, give you advice and help to build confidence too. There are also computers so you can go online and search for jobs and if you need bus passes they provide you with those. It is a good thing that they are doing helping people to get back into employment.

When you get that wage at the end of the week or the end of the month, you feel brilliant, not because you've got that money but because you've earned it. It's life changing. I'm really pleased with them and happy to be working alongside them.
