Kersal: Skills and Work advisor

I am glad that I got something that I like and I really enjoy giving the same thing to others. We see everybody from students to single mums, families from different countries as well as those from here. I think I am able to relate very well with them.

We give them advice on the career they are looking at, refer them to different training programmes if needed, do job searches and CVs, provide them with some interview techniques and then help them apply for jobs.

Skills and Work is not just simply finding any job for anybody, it's everything else that is provided with it. For example if someone comes in with childcare problems we would tell them about free childcare facilities and provide them with a bus pass so that they could attend their training or job. I think that's where we make a difference from going to a recruitment agency.
