Climate change information for schools

Salford City Council has pledged to reduce CO2 emissions from its buildings by 40% over five years. We'd like to ask all schools across the city to get onboard and help us achieve this target.

Not only can cutting your CO2 emissions help to combat climate change, it can result in financial savings too!

We have produced a handy booklet for you with lots of useful, practical advice on reducing your school's carbon footprint. To keep in with the theme of saving energy (and money), we've not printed copies of the booklet - instead you can download a copy below.

You can also find a ‘classroom checklist' and ‘building monitoring form' below - we hope these will be useful tools to involve pupils in saving and monitoring energy.

We often get calls from schools asking how to read meters. A guide can be found below.

Win £250 to put towards an energy saving measure

We'd like to invite you to take part in our exciting competition and get pupils and staff involved in saving energy. Find out more about the competition.
