What we offer

The children's centre offers a range of activities and services at different venues across the area, to support children and families. These include:

The centre

Our friendly staff will be there to support you and will be on hand to offer advise on a range of topics such as healthy eating, skills and work, oral hygiene, breast feeding, play activities and lots more or you and your child can simply enjoy the fun at our weekly play and stay sessions where children can come along to play.


Childcare is provided by our linked childcare provider Oaklands Day Nursery, which is based in the centre.

Monday 10.00am to 12.00 noon Introduction to Spanish Provided by Lower Kersal centre, telephone 0161 921 2639 for more information.
Monday 1.30pm to 3.30pm Baby clinic and drop-in Baby weighing and/or see the health visitor. Waiting area for parents and babies provided.
Tuesday 9.00am to 12.00 noon Everyday maths Provided by Lower Kersal centre, telephone 0161 921 2639 for more information.
Tuesday 10.00am to 11.30am Baby play Play session for babies not yet walking.
Tuesday 1.00pm to 2.30pm Healthy pregnancy Advice about healthy pregnancy and your new baby.
Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm Young parents drop-in For parents and carers aged up to 23 years old. For more information, contact Marianne on 0161 921 2639.
Wednesday 1.30pm to 2.45pm Messy stay and play Your child can come dressed for a mess and have some fun.
Thursday 9.30am to 12.00 noon Antenatal clinic At the Willow Tree centre.
Thursday 1.00pm to 1.30pm Wrigglers and gigglers Dance based movement for babies from seven months.
Thursday 1.30pm to 3.00pm Stay and play Songs, games and fun for babies and children aged up to five years.
Friday 9.30am to 11.30am Childminders group A group that supports childminders in the Charlestown and Lower Kersal area.
Friday 11.00am to 12.00 noon Baby massage Health benefits for baby and a chance to meet other parents/carers.
Friday 12.00 noon to 1.30pm Bumps, babies and beyond Baby feeding support group.
Friday 2.00pm to 3.00pm Soft play session Fun activities on soft play equipment for all children.
