SCBA winner announced
The winner of the 2011 Salford Children's Book Award (SCBA) is Michael Morpurgo's Shadow. The winning title was announced at a ceremony at the Lowry on Friday 27 January.

Story-rhymetime at the Height Library. Tuesday 14 February from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.
As part of SNAP week there will be a special fire themed story-rhymetime session at the Height Library in association with the fire service. Bring your child to the session and see a fire engine. For further information, please contact the library on 0161 736 1907.

Mini-beast story-rhymetime at Ordsall Library. Thursday 23 February from 10.00am to 11.00am. Bring your child to a special story-rhymetime session as part of Neighbours Day at Ordsall Library. Neighbours Day is for new and established residents from Ordsall and the surrounding communities to come together and find out what services and activities are available in their communities.

Tales from the canal. Free creative writing workshops

Join writer Terry Caffrey for a free morning of children's creative writing workshops based around the Bridgewater Canal. Workshops are part of the touring exhibition of 'The First Cut' on display around various venues along the canal corridor, organised by Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

Chatterbooks reading group at the Height Library.
