Climate change

Climate change activity

The world's climate is changing.

There is compelling scientific evidence that human activity is playing a major part in climate change - we must act now to stop the situation getting worse.

Salford City Council is already committed to tackling climate change - we've signed up to the Nottingham Declaration which is our pledge to take action.

Even if you are sceptical about the science, what we do know for certain is that oil and gas will eventually run out so we do need to save energy where we can and find alternatives.

These pages tell you more about climate change, what it means for people living in Salford and how Salford City Council is helping to reduce its impact.
