Senior ensemble tours

After the huge success of the tour to Paris in July 2009 the senior ensembles at Salford Arts Centre went on a concert tour in 2010. The venue was the Black Forest, Germany.

The tour consisted of four nights full board accommodation in Hotel Rebstock, which is the sister hotel to the Hotel Anker where the senior ensembles stayed in 2006. Three concerts took place during the tour and there was the opportunity to visit Europa Park and other leisure activities.

We are hoping to tour again in summer 2012 further details will be available in the autumn term, we are currently getting prices for a trip to Ireland.

Residential arts course

MAPAS have organised a creative weekend course for arts centre and satellite group pupils aged 9 to 14 years which will take place on Friday 23 to Sunday 25 September 2011. This will be an exciting opportunity for pupils to experience a variety of performing arts workshops led by members of the MAPAS team. As well as performing arts activities, there will be outdoor activities on site such as orienteering, canoeing and rock climbing supervised by both MAPAS and Conway Centre staff.

There will be 40 pupil places available, on a 'first come, first served basis'. The cost of the weekend is £105, which covers the accommodation fees only. Transport costs, food and course activities are being provided by extra funding from MAPAS. A deposit of £50 (non refundable) is required to secure the booking.
