Conferences 2006 / 2007
Urban Vision’s first ‘School Design Conference’ has been hailed a success by the 200 delegates who attended the event at The Lowry Arts and Entertainment Centre, Salford on 9 November 2006.
The one-day Conference brought together representatives from education, architecture, construction and local government and was one of the first events to focus on the issues of school design across working sectors. The conference was a must for those interested in developing their vision for Primary and Secondary Educational environments.
Speakers at the event included Ty Goddard, Director of British Council for School Environments (BCSE); Terrence Fernando, Director of the Future Works Spaces Research Centre and David Stansfield from architectural practice Feilden Clegg Bradley.
Regional representatives at the Conference were also joined by a delegation from Denmark, who attended the event to discuss the lessons learned from the development of Hellerup School in Copenhagen, which is often highlighted as an example of advanced school design throughout the world.
All proceeds from the Conference were donated to Salford Children’s Holiday Camp, which provides breaks for the children of Salford.
