The Big Listening
Salford City Council and the Primary Care Trust have joined forces to find out your views on the city, council services, health issues and health services. Ipsos MORI North developed and currently manage surveys on our behalf, which are sent to randomly selected households in the city. Ipsos MORI North is an independent market research company commissioned for this project.
How do people take part in the Big Listening?
Ipsos MORI North send out 7,000 surveys to randomly selected households approximately three times a year. The next survey will be sent out in September.
If you receive a questionnaire please take part - we would like to hear your views.
You can help shape the future of the city
The council and PCT are committed to listening and learning from our customers and then acting in response to what we are told. The Big Listening will help us to build a better city and ensure that services are in line with what people need and want. For instance, in Big Listening 5, you told us that you would like information on how the council's money is spent and what services we provide. We provided you with a booklet with your council tax bill telling you how the council compiles and spends the budget. We also plan to send each household in Salford an A to Z of council services later in 2008, as a special issue of the council's magazine. In the same survey, you told us that recycling is important to you and many of you use the kerbside collection service but would like better containers for recycling and improved collection. We are now in the process of introducing new bins that take more types of recyclables to increase recycling across the city.
You can also find out more information about the council's budget consultation.
