For education/school related enquiries please telephone 0161-778 0123. For details of how to contact the city council outside normal office hours in an emergency, please see Emergency Service below.
The city council operates a customer contact centre to handle certain types of service enquiries and transactions. An officer will ensure that details of your call are passed to the most appropriate service provider as efficiently as possible. The hours of operation are 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday (with the exception of Wednesday when it opens at 10.00am), excluding public holidays. It is also open on Saturday mornings between 8:30am and 12:30pm.

Salford City Council's Emergency Service
Outside normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays, the council's Emergency Service can be contacted by telephoning 0161-794 8888 (Minicom: 0161-793 3303) or emailing emergency.service@salford.gov.uk. Please note: emails should only be sent to the out of hours Emergency Service between the hours of 4:30pm to 8:30am Monday to Friday, at weekend between 3:30pm Friday and 8:30am Monday and anytime on a Bank Holiday.
All calls to our emergency service are recorded for security purposes. A call queuing system is in operation: when you get a ringing tone, please stay on the line - your call will be answered!
