Reaching out – working with our partners
Strong links exist between Salford Direct and its partners. We include in this our work with Housing Associations and Accredited Landlords because we see them as genuine partners in the service we provide.
Successful development of relationships with our partners both inside and outside the council have helped us improve the service.
Not least of these partnerships is our work with Manchester Business School and the Primary Care Trust with whom we have undertaken ground breaking work in moving services to the customer into the 21st century.
Our experience is that people from quite diverse services can come together in previously unheard of partnerships to promote joint services for the benefit of society. For example (in alphabetical order):
- Accredited landlords - service level agreement and work to support landlords
- AGMA - work with benchmarking groups such as the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities
- Benefits Agency - joint working as part of Operation FOSAL
- Citizens Advice Bureaux - joint advice surgeries to improve access to advocacy services
- Community Legal Service Partnership (CLASP) - to improve access to advocacy services
- Housing associations - service level agreement and work to improve services for customers
- Jobcentre Plus - service level agreement and work to improve services for customers
- Libraries - planned integration of benefits verification service
- Manchester Business School - joint working to improve business development through ODPM’s National CRM Academy
- NHS LIFT scheme - working to develop and deliver new customer service outlets throughout Salford. Planned provision of Customer Services in new NHS LIFT Centre to join up front line services across the public sector.
- New Prospect Housing Ltd - service level agreement to improve customer access and services
- Pensions Agency - service level agreement and work to improve customer access through outreach work and take up strategy
- Rent Officer Service - service level agreement
