Environment Directorate
The Environment Directorate is responsible for a host services in the city, from highly visible activities like refuse collection and street cleansing to less noticeable tasks like dealing with contaminated land.
The Lead Member for Environment is Cllr Keith Mann and the directorate's deputy director is Dave Tinker

The directorate has lead responsibility for the council's strategic objective of "ensuring the city has a clean, healthy and sustainable environment" as part of the 7 Pledges initiative. It supports and contributes to other council objectives to improve the environment in Salford including personal health, recreation & leisure, housing and planning development.
The Environment Directorate actively pursues quality standards such as ISO9000 and the government's Charter Mark, and has attained Investor in People status.
