Sustainable Regeneration

The Strategic Director of Sustainable Regeneration is Paul Walker.
The physical and social environment of the city has undergone a transformation over the last decade. The development of Salford Quays, together with other major housing, commercial and industrial improvement initiatives, have all helped to improve the quality of life for residents. It has also helped to create new employment opportunities and enhance the image of the city.
The Sustainable Regeneration directorate, together with other directorates of the city council, has played a key role in bringing this about.
The directorate's overall remit is to manage, protect, maintain, enhance and regenerate the city and in doing so to match our economic growth aspirations. This task is undertaken by bringing together the talents and expertise of a wealth of professional disciplines contained within the directorate Housing, Planning, Transport, Economic Development, Inward Investment and Regeneration.
All of our staff work closely together to provide a seamless service which continues to maintain the high quality standards demanded by the city council and its citizens.
