Domestic Violence

Salford City Council is committed to ensuring that any employee who experiences domestic violence can raise the issue at work and will receive appropriate support and assistance from the Council as their employer.

It is recognised that instances of domestic violence can have an impact on the workplace through lost productivity, absenteeism, and in some cases, threats and acts of domestic violence may carry over into the workplace.

Therefore the introduction of mechanisms and procedures to assist those experiencing domestic violence is an example of good management practice. Assisting and supporting individuals to resolve difficulties in their personal life will have a positive effect on their performance at work.
