The Mayor's Citizen Award
To qualify for the Mayor's Award, nominees have to live or work within the city of Salford and to have made a significant contribution to the city itself or to the life of the people who work or live here.
These are just some of the past winners of the Mayor's Award:
- Russell Watson - international singer and an excellent ambassador for Salford
- Harold Riley - a well-known local artist
- Dolly Phillips - has run a soup kitchen for the homeless for over 50 years
- Josie Browne - for her work with disability groups and other organisations in Salford
- Dennis Schofield - for his many years of involvement in local football with Deans Sports Football Club
- Mark Stead - for his significant contribution to the quality of life of the people of Salford across the age spectrum
If you would like to nominate a Salford citizen to receive a Mayor's Award, please download and complete our nomination form and return it to the Mayor's Office at the address indicated on the form.
