Jobs and training for Salford people
Skills and Work is a friendly and supportive service that helps you realise your potential by connecting you to jobs and training.
This service is open to everyone aged 18 or over who lives in Salford.
We are particularly happy to help people who have been out of a job for a while and may need a bit of extra help and guidance in getting back to work, as well as assistance in building up their confidence and skills.

Computer Skills - Keyboard/IT Skills Training
Why are these skills important?
Almost all jobs today require computer/keyboarding skills, so developing these skills will improve your chances of getting the job you want and help you in your job search.
Courses
Come and join a 10 hour programme run over 2 days (09:30 – 12:30, 13:00 – 15:00) where you can start to develop these skills.
Locally accessible venues
- Walkden Gateway: Thursdays 6 & 13 November
- St James House, 8th Floor, Pendleton: Mondays 10 & 17 November
- St James House, 8th Floor, Pendleton: Mondays, 1 & 8 December
Childcare
Crèche places may be available if required.
Qualification
You will have the option of gaining an e-Digital Competence Certificate (EDCC Cert), which assesses electronic office skills, communications and media. These certificates are widely recognised by educational institutions and employers.
