Availability of NHS dentists and oral health in Salford

Community Health and Social Care Scrutiny received a presentation from the local Primary Care Trust on NHS dentists in Salford. It was agreed that members would like to carry out further work to look into the following areas:

  • The availability and location of NHS dentists in Salford who are accepting new patients
  • The new pricing structure
  • The oral health message that is given by dentists and partners in Salford

This work will be carried out by talking to a sample of user groups in Salford, the distribution of a questionnaire. Representatives from relevant organisations will also be asked to talk to members of the sub group.
