Local Election: 1 May 2008
The last council local elections for Salford were held on 1 May 2008. Polling hours were 7.00am until 10.00pm.
A list of candidates and agents for the last election is available to download below or alternatively you can obtain a copy by contacting the Elections Office.
Postal voting
If you had a postal vote for this election your pack should have been sent out to you by Royal Mail on Thursday 17 April 2008.
The deadline for submitting a postal vote application or making a change to an existing application was 5.00pm on Wednesday 16 April 2008.
Proxy voting
Proxy voting is when you appoint someone (a friend or relative) to vote on your behalf if you are unable to vote in person.
Your proxy can either vote by post or at the polling station. The deadline for submitting a proxy vote application was 5.00pm Wednesday 23 April 2008.
Poll cards
Your poll card should have been delivered to you between 11 and 19 April 2008; each member of the household who is eligible to vote will receive a poll card.
You do not need to take your poll card with you to vote but it will help our polling staff if you do.
