Financial Services
The financial Services division provides comprehensive financial support to the city council and is responsible for the financial management of a gross budget of £600m in 2005/06.
Financial Services includes the Accountancy Service which is responsible for preparing budgets, management and final accounts and the provision of financial advice.
Financial Services is also responsible for the major financial processing functions of the council including Payroll, Invoice Payments, Billing and Debt Recovery, and e-trading
The city council is a public sector leader in the introduction of the world class financial and resource management system SAP. The SAP support and development team in Financial Services is responsible for the on-going development of systems and processes to deliver continuous improvements in efficiency.
