CPA corporate assessment 2006

There is a two stage approach to the overall CPA assessment:

  • Service scores are updated every year (annual assessment)
  • Once every three years a corporate assessment takes place - this examines the whole organisation and it does not change until the next three-yearly assessment.

The two ratings come together to provide an overall score.

The corporate assessment is an examination of the performance of a council, in order to support our continuous improvement.

Our more detailed three-year assessment (the corporate assessment) in which we are visited by inspectors took place during January 2006. The outcome of the January inspection becomes part of our annual rating for the next three years. The result was published by the Audit Commission on 11th April and our rating became official in June 2006.  Visit www.audit-commission.gov.uk for further information.

Self-assessment

A self-assessment is a part of each CPA corporate assessment and provides an opportunity for the council to tell our story.

The information in the self-assessment document and the evidence it provides was used to help the CPA inspection team make judgements regarding the scope and focus of their fieldwork.

The self-assessment is evidence of our self-awareness of our current position and capacity to deliver improved outcomes for local people.
