What is a councillor?
A councillor is a member of the public, chosen by you in the local elections. They provide a voice for local people and act as a leader of the community, bridging the gap between the public and the council. Most councillors are members of political parties, although some are independent. Many people turn to their councillor for advice and help on various issues relating to the services provided by the council. He or she will be happy to do all they can to help you.
