Green Flag parks and Local Nature Reserves

Salford has five Green Flag Award winning parks and open spaces - a mark of excellence that recognises the best green spaces in the country.
The award winning sites are:
The Green Flag Award signifies that a park has met strict criteria, including recognition that it is a clean, safe and welcoming place to spend leisure time.
Awards are given on an annual basis and winners must apply each year to renew their Green Flag status for each site.

Green Pennant Award
In 2010, Tindall Street Allotments also received the Green Pennant Award, that recognises high quality green spaces that are managed by voluntary and community groups.
This is the first Green Pennant for Salford, and the first time an allotment in the north west has been awarded the Green Pennant.
Local Nature Reserves
Local Nature Reserves (LNR) form an important part of our city. They support a rich and vibrant variety of wildlife, and make the places where we live and work healthier and less stressful.
