Amendment of parking places and controlled parking zone order 2010

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 19, 32, 35, 35a, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001 (Statutory Instrument.2001, No. 894).

When the order comes into effect Schedule 1 Part 1 of The City of Salford (Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2002 will be amended as detailed in schedule A below.

When the order comes into effect Schedule 2 Part 1 of The City of Salford (Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2002 will be amended as detailed in schedule B below.

When the order comes into effect Schedule 2 Part 2 of The City of Salford (Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2002 will be amended to include the lengths of road as detailed in schedule 'C' below.

The order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive. 

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the Director of Engineering, C/o Traffic Management and Control, 4th Floor, Emerson House, Albert Street, Eccles, M30 0TE by the 12 July 2010. (quoting reference TRO 1572)

Schedule A 

The City of Salford (Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2002

Schedule 1 Part 1 - pay and display bays

Delete:

  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 19 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 114 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres (19 bays)

Will be amended to include:

  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 15 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 18 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (3 bays)
  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 38 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 6 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (1 bay)
  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 49 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 30 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (5 bays)
  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 84 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 18 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (3 bays)
  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 107 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 6 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (1 bay)
  • All that part of the south west side of Blackfriars Road, Salford, which is bounded on the south west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 118 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane south eastwards for a distance of 6 metres which has a width throughout of 1.8 metres. (1 bay)

Schedule B 

Schedule 2 Part 1 - no waiting 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 12.30pm Saturday

Delete:

  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 19 metres in a south easterly direction.

Schedule C 

Schedule 2 Part 2 - no waiting at any time

Will be amended to include:

  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 15 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 33 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 5 metres in south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 44 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 79 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 102 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 113 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane for a distance of 5 metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Blackfriars Road, south west side from a point 124 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of Garden Lane to the north western kerbline of Cross Street.
