How have we performed

The Salford Community Safety Partnership set targets for crime and disorder which ran for twelve month periods ending at the end of March 2011. As of March 2011 we had made the following progress:

  • Serious violent crime was down by 20% (54 fewer crimes in 2010/11 than the baseline year 2008/09).
  • Serious acquisitive crime was down by 42% (over 3,000 fewer crimes in 2010/11 than the baseline year 2007/08).
  • Burglary dwelling was down by 24% (450 fewer crimes in 2010/11 than baseline year 2007/08).
  • Vehicle crime was down by half (over 2,500 fewer crimes than baseline year 2007/08).
  • Anti-social behaviour rates (per 1,000 population) was down to 14 from baseline year (2007/08) of 23.
  • 19% of respondents now say that anti-social behaviour is a problem compared to 32% in 2008.
  • In terms of feeling safer, 79% of residents now feel safe when out in their neighbourhoods compared to 70% in 2007/08.
