Cycle forum

Salford City Council have established a Cycle Forum to promote cycling and related activities within the city.

The forum offers the opportunity for people who are interested in cycling, or the promotion of cycling to meet in a relaxed, informal, friendly atmosphere to discuss related issues.

Already we have helped develop and launch the council's Local Cycle Strategy "Encouraging Cycling" which can be downloaded below, as well as providing constructive advice on the planning and development of cycle routes in Salford, and much more.

Did you know you can use our interactive maps to see where the cycle routes are in the city.

Once you're on our interactive maps click 'Map layers', expand 'Transportation' and click the checkbox. You'll then need to click the refresh icon, you can then zoom and pan around the map.

What are we doing?

Employers, landlords, retailers, if you want to encourage access for cyclists, we can advise you on the best cycle parking facilities to install, where to site them and we can arrange a quote for installation from Urban Vision. Please contact Lee Evans by ringing 0161 793 3801 or by emailing lee.evans@salford.gov.uk.

If you come across obstructions on the cycle paths or walkways such as overhanging branches, brambles, or you spot any other danger please report it using the online reporting form - click on Highways obstructions.
