Cycle Training

Salford Safer Cycling Courses are practical, nationally accredited on-road training sessions for children over ten years of age. Our courses are designed to develop road sense, awareness of traffic dangers and to improve a child’s ability to ride safely.

Courses are offered, via schools to all pupils aged 10 and above who are able to ride and have a suitable roadworthy bicycle and helmet. The training comprises of a number of modules carried out over 4 sessions.

Before practical instruction begins, each trainee is provided with a Highway Code. Practical training then begins in the playground with an assessment of the children's riding abilitiy before going out onto the road. All pupils are provided with fluorescent jackets for the duration of their course.

Successful candidates are given a certificate. Contact your child's school to find out whether they have applied for a course.
